About Sarah Holmes

Hi, I’m Sarah Holmes, a wildlife artist based in Southam, Warwickshire.

My artwork is all about capturing the incredible beauty, texture, and spirit of the natural world using the rich, dramatic depths of charcoal and graphite.

I love playing with deep blacks and soft gradients to bring animals to life on paper, aiming to catch those quiet, powerful moments in nature.

I’ve been incredibly honoured to see my work reach a global stage. I’ve twice been named a finalist in the prestigious David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition, and my pieces have been shortlisted for the Explorers Against Extinction 'Sketch for Survival' initiative.

For me, drawing wildlife isn't just about capturing a likeness; it's about celebrating and protecting the animals we share this planet with.
